Trip To Louisiana Photo Update
by FatTony on Sep.08, 2009, under My Blog
Way back in February I booked a flight to New Orleans for the last week in August for the Flatland Voodoo Jam. But then X Games popped up and was the same day, so I had to re-book my flight for another time. That other time was this past weekend. I had high hopes of riding my ass off, hanging out with my old friends, and seeing my family. I got to do all of the above, but had a few hangups along the way including, but not limited to:
- My luggage and bike not showing up until late the second day of my trip.
- Losing my phone and wallet in the French Quarter. (Thank the stranger with a good heart who found it and gave it back to me two days later.)
- Forgetting my computer charger in California.
- Forgetting my keys in my car.
- Ass hole security guards in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
But instead of harping on the bad, let’s focus on the good… Check out the photos!
- One of my highlights was getting to pedal around New Orleans with Terry Adams when we were both "out of work mode." It was awesome. Some parts of New Orleans are very pretty, like this view of Jackson Square.
- On Sunday's street jam in Downtown New Orleans it poured for about 45 minutes before getting really hot and sunny again. Luckily we were under a bridge and had plenty of people hanging out while waiting out the storm.
- I was hoping to get enough clips to finish the little video part I'm working on this weekend, but only came back with one. I'm psyched on it though. Guess the clip based off this photo, and win a prize...
- Hanging out with good homies is always fun. Andrew and Little Beefy making me feel short.
- This is one of those spots that Jeff Z. would freak out about. So many possibilites.
- Saturday's street jam was in Baton Rouge. This iPhone photo is from Terry Adams with me telling him "now" so he knew when to hit the shutter. Look out for more on this rider (Broc Raiford) in the very near future...
- I stopped by my old house in Baton Rouge just because I was in the neighborhood. What a shit hole, haha.
- Sometimes you don't realize how beautiful the nature is around you until it's not around you anymore. Cypress trees and Spanish moss can be very cool.
- Those commercials for Domino's "Lava Crunch Cake" make the thing seem so big. But really it's about the size of a Little Debby Cake. Even so, you can hear yourself getting obese when eating it.
- I love food. And I really love doughnus. And I really, really love the doughnuts from the lil shop in my hometown. So stoked on this old school breakfast!
- This is something you don't see in California, haha. Boudin (pronounced with a Cajun accent, "Boo-Daan") is a spicy blood sausage. I never really ate it though.
- Yep, more food... Desert at a five star restaurant with the same name as a Levi's pro team rider that lives in So Cal.
- See that orange thing sticking out? Yep...crawfish! Damn, I love those little bugs!
- Big family dinner with the whole crew at a really nice place with amazing seafood.
- My neice Madison is really fun to hang out with.
- I went to my old junior high school as a guest speaker and talked to a few hundred kids in four different classes about goals, dreams, career paths, and more. Fun times!
- This is my view of the class when I was talking to them, haha. So many young'ns!
Panama Black & White Scans
by FatTony on Feb.14, 2009, under My Blog
Over here in the magazine world sometimes we have to wait to post photos on the Internet because of something similar being used in the magazine. That’s why these eight black and white scans are going up three months after they were shot. With that said, here are a handful of my travel photos from Panama that I shot last November when I went down there for the Panama Flat International contest?
75 Black & White Photos From Europe
by FatTony on Feb.11, 2009, under My Blog
I shot a bunch of black and white photos in January on my trip to Simpel Session, but very few of them ended up being BMX-related. So here’s a heap of black and white travel photos from Amsterdam, Finland, and Estonia for my friends and family to enjoy.
In case you forgot, my journey started with a long layover in Amsterdam where I wandered around the city for an afternoon. Then once I landed in Estonia I took a boat across the Baltic Sea to Helsinki, Finland. I stayed there sightseeing for two days before going to Tallinn, Estonia for Simpel Session. You can see all the color photos from the trip here and the Simpel Session contest coverage here.
(Warning: These captions may contain typos. They also may read funny. I don’t proofread junk like this. Deal with it.)
Europe Travel Photos

When I went to Simpel Session in Estonia I had a nine and a half hour layover in Amsterdam and also took a few extra days to sightsee around Finland’s capital city. Here are my vacation/travel/personal photos from my recent trip to Europe.
Thanks to Risto from Simpel Session for getting me out there and thanks to Kai Kuusisto for hooking it up in Finland.
Where The Hell Is Matt?
by FatTony on Nov.28, 2008, under My Blog
Holy crap… Can’t even begin to describe how much my mind is racing thinking about this. So a guy does a silly dance and puts it on YouTube then gets a deal with Stride brand gum to travel the world and do the dance. So now the guy doesn’t have to work and has traveled the world over several times. This guy is the definition of the American Dream in my book. Jealous of Matt, no matter where the hell he is.
